Da Nang traffic police said on October 18 that administrative violation reports had been issued against the six women following an incident on the mountain pass.
Photos circulating on social media on October 17 showed the group sitting and posing on a sharp bend at kilometre 905+400 of Hai Van Pass in Hai Van Ward, while vehicles continued passing.

Police investigations found that the women had hired a car from Phu Loc Commune in Hue City to visit Hai Van Pass at around 8.30 am on October 17.
Upon reaching the bend, they asked the driver to stop, walked into the middle of the road and sat down to pose for photographs taken by another tourist.
After the images emerged online, Hai Van Ward Police and Hoa Hiep Traffic Police Station identified the women and summoned them for questioning at around 1 pm the same day.
All six were fined for gathering unlawfully on the roadway and obstructing traffic.
Police warned that Hai Van Pass has steep slopes, sharp bends and limited visibility, making such behaviour particularly dangerous.
Authorities urged tourists not to sit, lie down or pose for photographs on roads, stressing that sightseeing and photography do not justify obstructing traffic or endangering road users.
