The handover took place on October 16, with representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dantri, the Traffic Police Department and Toyota Vietnam presenting symbolic boards for the life jackets to local officials.

Those attending included Nguyen Thi Ha, deputy minister of Home Affairs; Pham Tuan Anh, editor-in-chief of Dantri Newspaper; Lieutenant Colonel Trinh Thi Thu Ha of the Traffic Police Department; and Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen, deputy general director of Toyota Motor Vietnam.

At the event, Pham Tuan Anh and Nguyen Cong Thanh, vice-chairman of the Danang People’s Council, also presented symbolic boards representing VND 70 million (about USD 2,700) donated by Dantri readers to support residents of Dai Loc and Ha Nha.

Nguyen Thi Ha and Pham Tuan Anh presented scholarships worth VND 1 million (about USD 38) each, along with life jackets, to 10 disadvantaged students in Dai Loc Commune.

A total of 50 households in the two communes received life jackets and cash gifts worth VND 1 million each, providing some financial relief to families affected by flooding.

Nguyen Dinh Vinh, deputy secretary of the Danang Party Committee and chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in the city, praised the initiative, saying its greatest value lay not in the material assistance but in the spirit of solidarity, mutual support and commitment to protecting lives.
The programme was organised by Dantri in coordination with the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security and local authorities, with funding from the Toyota Vietnam Foundation and Toyota dealerships.
