In recent days, footage showing a group attempting to climb large, stacked boulders at Da Chong Mountain, in Quang La Commune, Quang Ninh Province, has attracted hundreds of thousands of views on social media.

The images show young people struggling to scale a sloping rock outcrop high above a valley, prompting alarm among viewers.
The rocks sit close to the edge of a steep drop, with no sturdy railings or protective barriers where visitors climb to take photographs. Climbers rely largely on natural handholds and a few ropes for support, making the ascent potentially dangerous.
Many online commenters warned that a minor mishap, such as slipping or losing balance, could result in a serious accident.

Da Chong Mountain is known for its unusual natural rock formations, with large slabs stacked on one another and jutting out from the mountainside amid the forests of Quang Ninh. The site has attracted people interested in nature, hiking and photography.
Speaking to Dantri/Dtinews on the afternoon of October 16, a representative of the Quang La People’s Committee said local authorities were aware of the incident. The area lies deep in the forest, far from the commune centre, and can only be reached on foot.
“We have contacted the forest management unit and neighbouring wards and communes to coordinate the installation of barriers and warn people against entering the area to climb or take photographs,” the representative said.

The official stressed that the site was not a designated tourist attraction. Some visitors may have discovered it independently, taken photographs and shared them on social media.
