Viglacera Hung Yen JSC, a member of Viglacera Corporation, began construction on October 16 of the infrastructure project for Industrial Park 1, commercially named Green One, in Yen My and Xuan Truc communes in Hung Yen Province.
The 258.82-hectare development will be built in two phases. The first phase covers 216.17 hectares and has an investment of VND 2.32 trillion (about USD 89.5 million), while the second will cover 42.65 hectares.
Under the approved plan, Green One is intended to become Hung Yen’s first high-tech industrial park. At least 30 per cent of its industrial land will be reserved for projects involving high technology, information technology, research and development, technology transfer and innovation.
Priority sectors include semiconductors, electrical and electronic manufacturing, precision engineering, automation equipment and high-tech supporting industries.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Le Quang Hoa, vice-chairman of the Hung Yen People’s Committee, urged the developer to mobilise resources and complete the technical infrastructure promptly so the project could begin operations. He also called on authorities to strengthen inspections and guidance to ensure construction complies with regulations and meets landscaping and environmental requirements.

Green infrastructure and smart management
According to the developer, about 30.47 hectares of the first phase will be allocated to green space and water features, equivalent to 14.09 per cent of the phase’s total area. A landscaped buffer at least 10 metres wide is planned around the industrial park.
A centralised wastewater treatment plant will have a designed capacity of 4,000 cubic metres a day, combining physical and chemical treatment with biological processes. The project will also include a 4,000-cubic-metre emergency reservoir and separate collection systems for rainwater and wastewater.
Treated wastewater must meet applicable environmental standards before being discharged.
Other planned measures include smart lighting, incentives for rooftop solar power, electric vehicle charging stations and links between operational data and Viglacera’s central management system.
These facilities and systems are still at the implementation and planning stage, so their actual environmental performance has yet to be assessed.
Beyond industrial facilities, the development plan includes an 8.5-hectare social housing area for workers and 1.8 hectares of accommodation for experts. The developer estimates that the industrial park could create about 15,000 jobs once fully occupied.
Green One is near the Yen My interchange and adjacent to the Hanoi-Haiphong Expressway. The project received in-principle investment approval in September 2025 and has an operating term of 50 years.
