The Southern Regional Hydrometeorological Centre forecast scattered showers and thunderstorms across HCM City and southern provinces on October 15, with locally heavy rain expected in the afternoon and evening.
Temperatures are expected to range from 24-27 degrees Celsius overnight to 31-34 degrees during the day.
From October 15 to 17, easterly to northeasterly winds are forecast at force 3-4 over southern waters, occasionally reaching force 4-5 in northern sections, alongside scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Forecasters said rainfall could intensify from around October 17 as a low-pressure trough develops across the region, increasing the likelihood of localised heavy downpours.
Residents have been advised to monitor weather warnings and take precautions against lightning, whirlwinds, strong gusts and flooding in low-lying areas.
Fishing vessels and other boats have also been urged to exercise caution during thunderstorms and potentially hazardous conditions at sea.
On October 14, thunderstorms brought 6-30 millimetres of rain to several southern areas, with some locations recording more than 40 millimetres.
