The city's Department of Construction has added five urban and 11 interprovincial routes to its planned bus network serving the airport.
The five urban routes will connect Long Thanh International Airport with Binh Phuoc Ward, Chua Chan Mountain Tourist Area, Tan Phu Ward, Bien Hoa Bus Station and Cat Lai Ferry Terminal. They will range from 30 to 115 kilometres in length.
The 11 interprovincial routes will link the airport with major transport hubs in HCM City, including Saigon Bus Station, Binh Duong Bus Station, Vung Tau Bus Station, New Mien Dong Bus Station, Bau Bang Bus Station, District 8 Bus Station and Mien Tay Bus Station.
Other planned connections include Tan Son Nhat International Airport and the coastal destinations of Phuoc Hai-Long Hai and Phuoc Buu-Ho Tram.
Dong Nai City is working to complete the necessary transport infrastructure before introducing the 16 routes.
Long Thanh International Airport is expected to begin commercial operations in late December.
