The newspaper in coordination with the Cao Bang Department of Home Affairs and Doc Lap Commune authorities, held a handover ceremony for the seven charity houses on October 12.
The families lost their homes or suffered extensive damage during storms No. 10 and 11 in 2025.

Readers donated more than VND 567 million (approximately USD 21,600) towards construction. Local authorities also provided an additional VND 60 million to one family and VND 30 million to another.
Nearly a year after the storms, all seven houses have been completed, with construction supported by residents of Ban Lang Village.
Built on land allocated by the commune, the houses were constructed largely through community labour rather than hired contractors.
Villagers took turns digging foundations, mixing mortar and transporting materials, moving from one house to the next as work progressed.
They balanced construction work with farming, helping reduce labour costs while allowing the families to maintain their livelihoods.

The new homes are expected to provide safer living conditions and help the families rebuild their lives after the floods.
The project forms part of Dantri/DTiNews' wider charitable activities, which have supported disadvantaged communities through housing, education, healthcare and livelihood programmes.
Over more than 21 years, contributions from readers have helped fund 60 classrooms, 32 bridges and rural road projects, and 100 floating houses designed to withstand flooding.
The newspaper has also provided free medical check-ups for nearly 9,200 people, health insurance cards for 8,855 disadvantaged students and assistance to more than 6,000 struggling families.
Since April 2024, Dantri/DTiNews has worked with local authorities to begin construction of 283 charity houses for disadvantaged households nationwide, of which 263 have been completed.
