The opening ceremony and an accompanying art performance are scheduled for November 24 at Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its extensive cave system.

A highlight will be the Quang Tri International Hot-Air Balloon Week, scheduled for November 25-26 at Quang Tri Citadel and November 27-28 near the Hien Luong-Ben Hai historic site.

Cultural and food events will also take place from November 24 to 30 in Ben Hai Commune, Quang Tri Ward and Dong Hoi Ward, offering visitors opportunities to experience local traditions and cuisine.

A travelling Vietnamese film festival will be held in several mountainous communes during the same period, bringing cultural activities to remote communities.

Ahead of the festival, the final of Quang Tri's first provincial singing competition is scheduled for November 19 at the provincial Culture and Cinema Centre in Dong Hoi Ward.

Local authorities have been encouraged to organise activities celebrating Vietnamese Culture Day on November 24, highlighting local customs and traditions while promoting community participation.

Under the draft plan, the province aims to make its cultural and tourism events a regular feature, linking historical sites, natural attractions and local communities to develop new tourism products.

Cave exploration and tourism at Phong Nha-Ke Bang are among the priorities, alongside efforts to connect destinations into tours for domestic and international visitors.

Provincial authorities also plan to organise Quang Tri Culture Day on the 24th of each month to sustain cultural activities beyond the annual festival.

The initiative aims to strengthen cooperation between authorities, businesses and local communities while supporting sustainable tourism development.
