Tran Thi Thu Trang, chairwoman of the Bac Ninh Industrial Manufacturing Association, was appointed chairwoman of the new organisation. Gernot Fattinger, vice-president of technology at Skyworks, was named its honorary chairman.
The executive committee includes representatives from the industrial parks management board, technology companies, component and equipment manufacturers, and other industrial businesses in the city.
The association’s vice-chairmen also represent businesses, educational institutions and organisations operating in industry and semiconductors.
Two senior advisers were introduced: Nguyen Thi Bich Yen, chairwoman of VSAP Lab and an IEEE Fellow, and Do Tien Thinh, deputy director of the National Innovation Centre.
According to the plan announced at the launch, the association will serve as a hub connecting domestic companies with foreign-invested enterprises, universities, research institutes, experts and government agencies.
It hopes to promote cooperation, strengthen business capabilities and improve links among participants across the semiconductor value chain.
The association’s establishment comes as Bac Ninh expands its industrial base and attracts technology and electronics companies. It is expected to strengthen cooperation among businesses, educational institutions and authorities, helping build a competitive and sustainable semiconductor ecosystem.
