Under the plan, the road will have a 12-metre-wide roadbed and include 32 newly built bridges.
The project will pass through seven communes: Dat Moi, Cai Doi Vam, Song Doc, Khanh Hung, Da Bac, Khanh Lam and U Minh.
The project has a total investment of more than VND 8.545 trillion (USD 329 million), funded by the central government budget. Construction is scheduled for 2026-30.
Ca Mau authorities said the coastal road is intended to connect the province's marine economic centres with inland areas, helping create a continuous coastal route through Can Tho City, Ca Mau and An Giang.
The project is also expected to improve connections with the national and local transport networks and neighbouring provinces.
