Ben Thanh Ward police said the two suspects were arrested on October 7 following a theft at a hotel in the area.

The Chinese tourist discovered early on October 6 that foreign currency and Vietnamese dong had been stolen from their hotel room and reported the theft to police later that day.
Police said the two suspects, born in 1997 and 2008, admitted to the theft after being detained.
Officers recovered cash, an iPhone 17 Pro Max and one chi of gold, equivalent to 3.75 grammes, which police said had been bought with the stolen money.
Ben Thanh Ward police are continuing to investigate the case.
Authorities advised hotel guests to keep cash and foreign currency in room safes or leave valuables with the hotel for safekeeping, and to ensure their doors are locked before going to sleep.
