The Hue Hydro-Meteorological Station said on October 6 that moderate to intense rain had been recorded across the city, including 134.4 mm in Co Bi, 124 mm in An Tay and 117.6 mm in Binh Tien.
Soil moisture in some areas has exceeded 80 per cent or reached saturation, while another 70-150 mm of rain is forecast in the coming hours, exceeding 200 mm in some places.
Warnings for flash floods, landslides and ground subsidence have been issued for Kim Tra, Phong Thai, Binh Dien, Huong An, Huong Tra, Kim Long, A Luoi 5, Phong Dien and Phu Bai.
High-risk areas include mountainous roads, riverbanks and sections of National Highway 49A, the Ho Chi Minh Road and several roads.
Authorities warned that flash floods and landslides could endanger lives, disrupt traffic and damage homes, infrastructure and production. Residents were advised to exercise caution near flooded roads, spillways, small bridges and steep slopes.
Heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast to continue on October 7-8 due to strengthening cold air and other weather systems, with further downpours expected from October 9-11.
Total rainfall in Hue from October 6-15 is forecast at 300-550 mm, exceeding 700 mm in some areas.
