The art installation, themed 'Ribbon of Memories', is being built in the gardens and pedestrian area along the western shore of Hoan Kiem Lake on Le Thai To Street.

It is scheduled for completion ahead of the 72nd anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day on October 10 and Vietnam Culture Day on November 24.

The centrepiece is an elevated walkway incorporating lighting and mirrored installations. Once completed, it will provide a space for visitors to walk, explore and take photographs beside the lake.

According to Hoan Kiem Ward authorities, the project is designed to add a new feature to the lakeside landscape and offer residents and tourists a different way to experience the familiar surroundings.

Steel frames form the main structure, while wooden decking runs along the walkway. LED lighting installed along the floor is expected to illuminate the structure at night.

Workers are completing the final sections of the installation, while flowers and greenery have been planted beneath and around the walkway.

Hoan Kiem Ward authorities expect 'Ribbon of Memories' to evoke stories of Hanoi’s urban past and Hoan Kiem Lake, a longstanding cultural and historical space in the capital.

Mirrored frames are also being installed alongside the walkway, creating reflections and visual effects when illuminated.

The project is funded entirely through private contributions, with no state budget funding. The lakeside area must be restored to its original condition after the programme ends.

The installation is scheduled to be on display from October 8 to December 2.
