The turtle, identified as a black marsh turtle (Cuora amboinensis), is listed under Group IIB of Vietnam's protected wildlife regulations.

Police later coordinated with the Thuan Nam-Ninh Phuoc Forest Ranger Unit to transfer the turtle for care and rehabilitation.

The animal will undergo necessary procedures before being released into a suitable natural habitat.
