Following information provided by a witness, authorities excavated two trenches with a combined length of about six metres, uncovering numerous artefacts.
As the search expanded, officials found three sets of war remains about two metres apart, along with a magazine, several AK rounds, a plastic cup and two white plastic containers suspected to contain explosives.
The Quang Ngai Military Command is continuing to expand the search for additional war remains in the area.
