Speaking at the ceremony, Hanoi Vice Chairwoman Vu Thu Ha said the event had become a signature race for the capital, extending beyond sport to contribute to Hanoi's image as a modern, dynamic, liveable city with a distinctive cultural identity.
Over its five editions, the marathon has attracted more than 54,000 runners from 57 countries and territories, gaining international reach while promoting the cultural and heritage values of Hanoi and Vietnam, Ha said.
The 2025 event generated an estimated USD 13.7 million through tourism, accommodation, trade and services.

For 2026, the race courses have again been certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and the Vietnam Athletics Federation as meeting international standards, marking the fifth consecutive year of certification.
The 42km full marathon follows a non-repeating route passing 37 of the city's landmarks.
The 21km half-marathon route will take runners across Long Bien Bridge at sunrise, offering views of Hanoi's distinctive landscape.
Techcom Life is joining the event for the first time as the main sponsor of the Kids Run, scheduled for October 3 for children aged five to 14.
The race is part of Techcom Life's community activities aimed at encouraging children to develop exercise habits, improve their physical health and adopt an active lifestyle from an early age.
The main Hanoi Techcombank International Marathon 2026 will take place on October 4, bringing together more than 14,500 runners from 57 countries and territories.
