Hoan Kiem Ward People's Committee said on October 2 that it was decorating the area around the lake under the theme 'Ribbon of Memories'.

The project is being carried out to mark the 72nd anniversary of Hanoi's Liberation Day on October 10 and Vietnam Culture Day on November 24.
The centrepiece is a landscaped elevated walkway incorporating lighting and mirrored frames. Designed as an open public space, the installation will allow visitors to walk through the display, take photographs and view the lakeside landscape from different perspectives.

Hoan Kiem Ward authorities said the design was intended to offer new views of the lake while encouraging interaction with the surrounding urban space.
The installation is scheduled to be on display from October 8 to December 2 along the pavement and lakeside promenade on Le Thai To Street, southwest of Turtle Tower.
The project is funded through private contributions and does not use the state budget. The lakeside area will be restored to its original condition after the display ends.
Local authorities expect 'Ribbon of Memories' to provide a new focal point around Hoan Kiem Lake while evoking stories associated with the lake and Hanoi's urban life.
