A man was killed after being struck by a train in Ho Chi Minh City on October 1, with police investigating the accident.

At about 6 am, a train travelling north on the North-South railway from Saigon Station collided with a man near the intersection with Luong Ngoc Quyen Road in An Nhon Ward.

The impact killed the man at the scene. The train was temporarily halted to allow authorities to deal with the accident site.

Police from An Nhon Ward and traffic police arrived shortly after receiving the report, securing the scene, regulating traffic and handling the incident.

The cause of the accident and the identity of the victim are being verified by police.
