The city has issued a plan to develop key tourism areas in the south, making greater use of its marine, island, river, lake, rural and heritage resources.
Seven priority areas have been identified, comprising Tam Ky, Quang Phu, Huong Tra and Ban Thach wards, along with Tam Xuan, Tam Hai and Phu Ninh communes.

The Tam Ky-Ban Thach-Huong Tra-Quang Phu urban area will serve as a tourism hub linked with trade, services, education and the night-time economy. Phu Ninh, Tam Xuan, Tam Hai and surrounding areas will be connected to develop a wider range of tourism products.
The city plans to pursue community-centred sustainable tourism, allowing local residents to organise activities, provide products and services and benefit from tourism.
By 2030, Da Nang aims to put at least seven tourist sites into operation across the seven priority areas, with each offering at least one distinctive product.
It also plans to develop 12-15 new tours and encourage around 20-30 community-based accommodation facilities, homestays and farmstays, along with agricultural and ecotourism experiences.
The southern area is expected to receive around 1.5-2 million visitors by 2030, with average annual growth of 18-20 per cent and stays of one to two nights.
Tam Ky, Ban Thach, Quang Phu and Huong Tra will focus on cultural, historical and river-based tourism, while Tam Thanh, Tam Tien and Tam Hai will develop marine and island experiences, community tourism, arts and fishing-village culture.
Phu Ninh Lake and Huong Tra will focus on ecotourism, resorts, wellness, agriculture and rural experiences.
The city also aims to provide Wi-Fi and QR codes offering information in Vietnamese and English at all key tourist sites, while developing digital maps and promoting cashless payments.
Artificial intelligence will gradually be used for data analysis, tourism promotion, demand forecasting and improving visitor experiences.
