The management board of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park announced on September 28 that the UNESCO-listed site received two titles at the World Travel Awards 2026 ceremony held in the Maldives: Asia’s Leading National Park 2026 and Vietnam’s Leading Nature Destination 2026.

The awards mark the second time Phong Nha - Ke Bang has won both honours simultaneously, highlighting the destination’s growing appeal and its outstanding natural, scenic and biodiversity values.
“These awards are a great honour, but they also place greater responsibility on us to conserve nature and protect the values of this World Heritage site,” said Dinh Huy Tri, deputy director of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.
“Conservation remains the foundation for sustainable tourism development and for maintaining Phong Nha - Ke Bang as one of Asia’s most attractive nature destinations,” he added.

Located in Quang Binh Province, the national park is renowned for its extensive limestone mountains, cave systems, underground rivers and pristine forests.
Hundreds of millions of years of geological evolution have created a unique landscape that includes some of the world’s most famous caves, such as Phong Nha Cave, Paradise Cave, En Cave and Son Doong Cave, widely regarded as the world’s largest cave.
Beyond its geological significance, the park is home to diverse forest ecosystems and a rich variety of wildlife, including numerous rare and endangered species.
