Dong Thap Province held a groundbreaking ceremony on September 25 for the Thanh Tan Industrial Cluster infrastructure development project.
Located in a remote area of Tan Phuoc 2 Commune, the industrial cluster covers 50 hectares and has a total investment of nearly VND 871 billion (USD 33.5 million).

The Thanh Tan Industrial Cluster is intended to attract businesses in food processing and preservation, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic manufacturing, supporting industries, plastic products, organic and microbial fertilisers, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, as well as services supporting industrial production.
The cluster is being developed in an area with favourable transport links, creating a pool of industrial land with coordinated technical infrastructure to meet the needs of secondary investors.
The project is expected to help shift the local economic structure towards a greater share of industry and services while creating jobs for local workers. Its food processing and preservation industries are also expected to support the consumption of local agricultural products and increase their value.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Nguyen Thanh Dieu, vice-chairman of the Dong Thap People's Committee, called on the investor, Dai Ngan Son Manufacturing Trading Services Co Ltd, to ensure the project is implemented safely, efficiently and in compliance with the law.
He said the project should not simply provide infrastructure to attract investment but should also create a positive impression among investors and partners coming to work and invest in the area.
Local authorities will work with the investor to strengthen vocational training and employment support, creating opportunities for people living in the project area to find work.
The measures are intended to improve household incomes, strengthen social welfare and contribute to the province's socio-economic development.
