The festival will feature 45 cultural spaces, 35 food stalls, films from 18 countries, traditional costumes from 19 and performances by 20 international art troupes.
A highlight will be the International Festival Games area, combining heritage and technology through Vietnamese culture-inspired video games, cosplay, dance and interactive activities.
The opening ceremony will take place at 8 pm on October 1 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi's Ba Dinh Ward.
Art troupes from Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, South Korea, Laos, Pakistan, Peru and Ukraine will perform alongside Vietnamese artists and traditional performing arts groups.
The festival will also serve as a launch activity for Vietnam's initiative for an 'International Decade for Culture for Sustainable Development' from 2027 to 2036, recently adopted by the United Nations General Assembly.
Organisers said the event would provide a platform for cultural exchange while promoting Hanoi and Vietnam's cultural heritage to international audiences.
Hanoi, a UNESCO Creative City, is expected to use the four-day festival to showcase both traditional heritage and contemporary creative activities.
