The event will be jointly organised by the HCM City Employment Service Centre, the city's Social Protection, Vocational Training and Employment Centre, the Youth Employment Service Centre and the Xuan Hoa Ward People's Committee.
Nguyen Van Hanh Thuc, director of the HCM City Employment Service Centre, said the fair was intended to give people with disabilities better access to jobs suited to their abilities and help them participate in the labour market.
At the city's latest employment fair on September 14, hundreds of businesses offered more than 17,000 vacancies, including many positions suitable for people with disabilities.
Last year's dedicated job fair attracted 28 companies offering 522 positions for people with disabilities, while nearly 500 jobseekers attended.
Nguyen Van Cu, deputy director of the Disability Research and Capacity Development Centre (DRD), said employers that had hired people with disabilities reported positive assessments of their productivity, work performance and attitude.
He said employees with disabilities often showed strong commitment and remained with employers for longer when placed in jobs suited to their abilities, helping businesses reduce staff turnover.
Cu said people with visual impairments, for example, often have strong listening, concentration and memory skills and have been recruited for call centres, telephone customer service and sales roles.
People with lower-limb mobility impairments can also be well suited to jobs requiring manual skills, including positions on garment production lines, he said.
