A business has also proposed holding the Miss Tourism Culture Vietnam 2026 pageant, with the proposal submitted to the municipal People's Committee for consideration.

Can Tho aims to welcome about 12.3 million visitors this year, up more than 10 per cent from 2025, including around 620,000 international arrivals, a 14 per cent increase.

The city is also targeting more than 5.4 million overnight visitors, up 10 per cent, and tourism revenue of more than VND 11.4 trillion (USD 434 million), up 14 per cent.

Tuan said the city was working with other agencies to promote tourism services, products and accommodation alongside major events, helping increase tourism revenue and contribute to the local economy.
