The free-entry period will run from September 30 to October 3, according to the management board of the Ho Dynasty Citadel Heritage and key historical sites in Thanh Hoa.
The 2026 Lam Kinh Festival will be held from October 1 to 3, commemorating the 608th anniversary of the Lam Son uprising, the 598th anniversary of King Le Thai To's accession to the throne and the 593rd anniversary of the death of national hero Le Loi.
The main ceremony will begin at 7.30 am on October 2 at the Dragon Courtyard of Lam Kinh's main hall, featuring traditional rituals including incense offerings, ceremonial readings and the beating of drums to open the festival.
A highlight this year will be a folk arts festival and highland market held at Lam Kinh for the first time from September 30 to October 2.
The event will showcase traditional performances including Xuan Pha dances, Poon Poong and Ngu Tro Vien Khe folk performances and Cheo traditional theatre, alongside folk games, local products and traditional food from ethnic minority communities.
Participating localities will recreate their traditional markets, with artisans demonstrating crafts and food preparation and introducing local products and cultural traditions. OCOP products and regional specialities will also be displayed.
Visitors can also use QR codes to access information at 18 points across the site, with multimedia guides available in Vietnamese and English.
The festival will include incense-offering and commemorative ceremonies at several historical sites associated with King Le Thai To, Le Lai and other founding figures of the Later Le Dynasty.
Lam Kinh, the former imperial capital of the Later Le Dynasty, is one of Thanh Hoa's major historical and cultural attractions.
