Khanh Hoa authorities are preparing to launch a tender to select an investor for a more than USD2 billion mixed-use urban development in Bac Nha Trang Ward.

The provincial People's Committee on September 12 submitted a proposal to the provincial People's Council seeking approval for a land package to be offered through a competitive bidding process for the Vinh Luong Urban Area project in Bac Nha Trang Ward.

The development is planned on a site covering more than 250ha and is expected to accommodate a population of over 11,000 residents.

The project is designed as a multi-functional urban area featuring commercial housing, social housing, service facilities, tourism and resort developments, accommodation establishments, and integrated technical and social infrastructure.

Planned community facilities include schools, hospitals, cultural centres, shopping complexes, themed parks and urban green spaces.

Provincial authorities expect the project to maximise the development potential of land in Bac Nha Trang, enhance the value of the scenic Co Tien Mountain area and serve as a catalyst for local economic and social growth.

The project is scheduled to be implemented over 102 months, beginning in the third quarter of 2026 following investor selection and concluding in the fourth quarter of 2034.

According to the Khanh Hoa People's Committee, the development meets the legal criteria for investor selection through competitive bidding, involves a large-scale land allocation and is consistent with approved urban development plans.
