In a statement issued on September 12, Haiphong Police said officers had arrested Chen Yihao, a Chinese national wanted by public security authorities in China's Guangxi Province on allegations of goods smuggling.
According to investigators, Chen, born in 1991, was the subject of detention and wanted order No. W00134, issued by Guangxi police on March 21, 2024.
Authorities said the suspect had been located while staying in a high-end residential apartment complex in Haiphong.
Police carried out the arrest at approximately 11.15 pm on September 10.
Haiphong Police said they are completing the necessary legal procedures to transfer the suspect to the relevant authorities in accordance with Vietnamese law and applicable international agreements.
