An Khe Ward Police in Danang said on September 9 that officers had coordinated with police at Danang International Airport to investigate and handle a case involving the unauthorised operation of a drone within a no-fly zone.

The incident was detected on September 8 when officers discovered a 17-year-old student, currently enrolled at a university in Danang, flying a drone in the area around Nguyen Dinh Tuu and Le Thi Tinh streets in An Khe Ward.
According to police, the student had not obtained the required licence to operate the drone. The aircraft was also found to lack the necessary purchase documentation, import records, registration papers and flight permits required under Vietnamese regulations.
Authorities have drawn up an official report on the incident and are handling the case in accordance with the law.
An Khe Ward Police warned that drones cannot be operated freely in all locations and that flying them in restricted or prohibited airspace without authorisation may threaten aviation safety, national security and public order.
The warning comes as authorities continue to tighten oversight of unmanned aerial vehicles, particularly in areas surrounding airports and other sensitive infrastructure.
