Dong Nai plans 305-hectare industrial park near expressway

Dong Nai City has approved plans for a 305-hectare industrial park near the Phan Thiet-Dau Giay Expressway, designed as an eco-industrial zone targeting net-zero emissions.

The Dong Nai Industrial and Economic Zones Authority has approved a 1:2,000 zoning plan for Hang Gon Industrial Park in Hang Gon Ward.

The 305-hectare site lies near the Phan Thiet-Dau Giay Expressway and National Highway 56, which connects Dong Nai with the Cai Mep-Thi Vai port complex in HCM City.

Under the plan, Hang Gon will be developed as a modern, environmentally friendly eco-industrial park, focusing on efficient use of resources and energy, lower emissions and a transition towards net zero.

Hang Gon Ward, formed from the former Xuan Tan Ward and Hang Gon Commune, is known for durian, rambutan and mangosteen farming and a megalithic tomb dating back over 2,000 years.

The ward is also planned to accommodate the 180-hectare Doi Riu urban area, a 60-hectare lakeside resort, a 153-hectare urban and sports complex and a 125-hectare golf, commercial and services complex.

Together with central Long Khanh and Xuan Loc, Hang Gon is envisioned as a new urban area in eastern Dong Nai. A nuclear science and technology research centre is also planned for the area.
