VNFruitVegMarket-Vietnam Agri Wholesale Platform announced on September 3 that it is developing the country's first online wholesale produce market to strengthen trade links between Vietnamese agricultural suppliers and the Singapore market.

Le Ngoc Nguyen, a representative of VNFruitVegMarket, said the platform is scheduled to launch by the end of September 2026 with a flexible wholesale purchasing model.

The platform will allow buyers to source Vietnamese agricultural products in quantities ranging from a single carton or pallet to large-scale orders, with transparent product information and publicly available pricing policies.

The online marketplace is designed to broaden access to Vietnamese produce for a wide range of customers in Singapore, including small and medium-sized enterprises, retailers, restaurants, food and beverage operators, distributors and trading partners, rather than focusing solely on traditional large-volume importers.

Beyond facilitating online transactions, VNFruitVegMarket will be integrated with warehousing infrastructure in Singapore to support storage, consolidation, distribution and domestic delivery.

The platform incorporates several technology-driven tools tailored to agricultural trade. A group-buying function will aggregate demand from multiple buyers to optimise order volumes and reduce costs.

A multi-directional auction system will enable flexible transactions based on supply, demand, production volumes and timing. The platform also uses artificial intelligence to analyse market demand and inventory planning, helping reduce the risks of shortages and excess stock.

By improving transparency in supply and pricing, the marketplace will provide buyers with accurate information on product specifications, availability and volumes.

According to Nguyen, Vietnam has a diverse agricultural supply base, but exporters continue to face challenges related to buyer connections, order sizes, logistics, inventory management and distribution speed in overseas markets. A flexible trading platform capable of addressing these supply chain bottlenecks is needed to support export growth.

Singapore has been identified as an attractive target market due to its strong demand for imported food and agricultural products and its proximity to Vietnam, which facilitates the transportation of fresh produce.

At the same time, Singapore maintains high standards for quality, food safety, traceability and professional business practices. Successfully meeting these requirements could help Vietnamese products gain access to additional international markets.

Singapore is also a major trade and logistics hub for ASEAN and Asia.

As a result, VNFruitVegMarket said its long-term goal extends beyond selling Vietnamese produce in Singapore. The platform aims to build an integrated market, logistics and distribution network that can be expanded across the region and into global markets.
