The violations were detected in Son Tra, An Hai and Hoa Cuong wards during a heightened aviation security campaign for the September 2 National Day holiday, according to police at Danang International Airport.
The drones were used to film promotional videos and for personal purposes.
Authorities drew up violation reports, temporarily seized the drones and handed the cases to relevant agencies for further action.
Airport police warned that unauthorised drone flights near airports could directly threaten aviation safety, particularly during aircraft take-offs and landings, and could lead to flight delays, cancellations or diversions.
Residents and visitors were advised not to fly drones in no-fly zones, particularly around Danang International Airport, and to comply with regulations governing unmanned aircraft.
Those whose drone operations obstruct or threaten aviation safety could face administrative penalties or criminal charges, depending on the severity and consequences of the offence, with prison terms of up to 15 years.
Military commands in An Hai, Hai Chau, Lien Chieu and Hoa Cuong wards have stepped up patrols and monitoring of drone activity in key areas.
Authorities are maintaining daily patrols, while the Danang Military Command's observation post operates around the clock to detect unauthorised drone flights.
Patrols are focused on entertainment venues, crowded event sites, tourist attractions, key defence and security areas, and locations where flights are banned or restricted.
Danang International Airport recorded six drone incursions between February 17 and 24, affecting 83 flights.
Following the incidents, authorities called for tighter controls and tougher action against illegal drone operations. On February 26, Danang Vice Chairman Le Quang Nam ordered relevant agencies to urgently strengthen controls on drones operating in restricted airspace around the airport.
Police and military forces have since stepped up patrols and dealt with several cases of illegal drone operations across the city.
