According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7 am on September 3, Storm Saudel was centred over coastal waters off the south-eastern part of Fujian Province, China.
Maximum wind speeds near the storm's centre were at level 8, or 62-74kph, with gusts up to level 10. The storm was moving west-north-west at about 10kph.
By 7 am on September 4, the storm is forecast to turn west-south-west, moving at 10-15kph and making landfall in the south-eastern part of Guangdong Province, China.
It is then expected to weaken into a tropical depression, with maximum winds at level 6 and gusts up to level 9. By 7 pm the same day, the tropical depression will continue moving west-south-west at about 10kph, pushing deeper into southern Guangdong Province before weakening into a low-pressure area.

Under the influence of Storm Saudel, waters in the north-eastern part of the East Sea are seeing level 6-7 winds, with gusts of level 8-9. Waves are 2-4 metres high and seas are rough.
In areas close to the storm's path, winds may reach level 8, with gusts up to level 10, while waves are forecast at 3-5 metres. Meteorological authorities warned that vessels operating in dangerous waters could face thunderstorms, whirlwinds, strong winds and high waves.
As for the heatwave in northern Vietnam, meteorologists forecast hot weather across the north on September 3, with maximum temperatures generally at 35-36 degrees Celsius, and above 36 degrees Celsius in some places.
From Thanh Hoa to Danang, as well as eastern Quang Ngai Province, hot weather is forecast, with some areas facing severe heat. Maximum temperatures are expected to range from 35-37 degrees Celsius, exceeding 37 degrees Celsius in some places.
Hot conditions in these areas are forecast to ease gradually from September 4.
