Tourist rescued after fainting on Ba Den Mountain

A female tourist fainted while climbing Ba Den Mountain in Tay Ninh. Rescuers reached her quickly, gave first aid and brought her down safely.

The management board of Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area said on September 2 that rescue teams had brought a female tourist who fainted while climbing the mountain to safety and helped transfer her to hospital.

Earlier, on the evening of September 1, the management board received reports that a female tourist had fainted on the power line route, between pole numbers 50 and 60.

Rescue teams were immediately deployed to reach the victim. By 6.30 pm, the authorities had arrived, provided first aid and began efforts to bring the woman down to the foot of the mountain.

By 8.45 pm, the victim had been taken to a safe area and was then transferred to hospital for examination and treatment.

The management board of Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area advised visitors to assess their health condition before climbing and not to continue if they showed signs of fatigue, exhaustion, dizziness or were otherwise unfit.

Visitors were urged to bring sufficient drinking water, light food, personal medication and other essentials. They were also advised not to climb alone, but to travel in groups and inform relatives of their itinerary.

The management board also recommended that visitors plan their time carefully and set off early to ensure they could descend before dark.

If they felt weak or showed unusual health symptoms, visitors should not press on, but instead find a safe place and contact the authorities for assistance.
