Hoi An Ancient Town in Danang has been crowded with visitors throughout the National Day holiday, with popular attractions, restaurants and cafes reporting heavy foot traffic.
On the afternoon of August 31, the town's narrow streets were packed with tourists, while queues formed outside several well-known attractions and dining venues.

Hoang Dieu Linh, a visitor from Hanoi, said it was her fourth trip to Hoi An.
"I feel that Hoi An always has a way of captivating visitors and making them want to return. This time, I had the chance to experience several traditional crafts right in the ancient town, which was both impressive and unique," she said.
Maria, a tourist from Australia, said she was particularly impressed by the beauty of the historic town, its traditional handicrafts, local cuisine and the hospitality of residents.
"I especially love the food here. It is distinctive and incredibly diverse. We will definitely return and recommend Hoi An to our friends and family," she said.

To celebrate Vietnam's National Day, the ancient town has been decorated with the red and yellow colours of the national flag. Streets, hotel balconies and restaurant facades have been adorned with Vietnamese flags, while souvenir shops and beverage stalls have created themed photo spots for visitors.
The holiday period also coincides with Hoi An Creative Week 2026, which runs from August 28 to September 2 and features nearly 20 events, including exhibitions, traditional folk games and heritage experiences incorporating digital technology.
In addition to activities in the historic centre, a series of related events are being held across Hoi An Ward, Hoi An Dong Ward, Hoi An Tay Ward and Tan Hiep Commune.
According to the Danang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, visitor numbers during the five-day National Day holiday from August 29 to September 2 are expected to increase by 18 per cent compared with the same period in 2025.
The strong turnout highlights Hoi An's continued appeal as one of Vietnam's most popular cultural tourism destinations and reflects growing travel demand during the country's major public holidays.
