Gia Lai traffic police said the accident occurred at around 3:10 a.m. on the National Highway 19 bypass as the bus was travelling from Ham Rong towards Dak Doa Commune.
The vehicle lost control at km 104+600 in Hoi Phu Ward and overturned onto the right-hand roadside. There were 33 passengers on board at the time.
One person died and seven others were taken to medical facilities for examination and treatment.
Police tests found that the driver, 33, had no alcohol or drugs in his system and held a valid Class D driving licence.
The bus was manufactured in 2025 and had a valid technical safety and environmental inspection certificate until December 2027.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
