Noi Bai International Airport expects August 28 to be the peak travel day of the September 2 National Day holiday period, with passenger numbers forecast to exceed 125,000.
The figure would represent an increase of 8 per cent compared with normal traffic levels and 33 per cent compared with the same period in 2025.
Airport authorities also expect 743 take-offs and landings on the day, up 10 per cent from normal operations.
To accommodate the surge in demand, the airport's slot allocation capacity has been increased from 42 to 44 aircraft movements per hour between 6 am and 11.55 pm, allowing airlines to schedule additional flights.
Noi Bai International Airport said it has strengthened staffing levels and will maximise the use of check-in counters, boarding gates and baggage-handling systems throughout the holiday period.
The airport is also coordinating with police and other authorities to manage vehicle traffic and passenger flows in an effort to reduce congestion at terminal buildings.
Passengers have been encouraged to check in online and make use of VNeID digital identification, self-service check-in kiosks and biometric kiosks where available.
Airport officials also advised travellers to carefully check travel documents and baggage requirements before arriving at the airport.
To avoid delays and missed flights, passengers are urged to arrive at least two hours before domestic departures and three hours before international flights, while following instructions from airport staff and security personnel during peak travel periods.
