Many classes at Kim Giang Primary School issued notices early Monday morning postponing the start-of-year student gathering until tomorrow (August 25).
Teachers sent the notices to parents through class groups or via Zalo.
Although these year groups have not yet officially started lessons, pupils in grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 at Kim Giang Primary School had been due to gather this morning to meet their teachers. However, to ensure pupils' safety, the school decided to postpone the meeting.

"According to forecasts from the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, under the impact of Storm Narra, Hanoi is expected to see moderate to heavy rain tonight and tomorrow, with some places receiving more than 200mm.
To ensure pupils' safety, the school announces that the gathering for pupils in grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 will be moved from August 24 to 8 am on August 25," according to a notice from Kim Giang Primary School.
Nguyen Quang Tung, headteacher of Lomonosov High School, said the school had proactively informed pupils as early as yesterday afternoon that lesson times would be delayed because of heavy rain.
Nguyen Thi Kim Hue, a parent at Ngoi Sao Hoang Mai School, said the school had informed parents from last night that they could decide whether their children should attend or stay at home. The school would still provide supervision if parents sent their children in.
Thu Hong, a parent at a school in Ha Dong Ward, also said the school had announced a temporary suspension of club activities on August 24 and had also halted childcare services because of the storm and rain.
"Because of the prolonged and complicated storm situation, and to ensure pupils' safety, all pupils attending supervision services and clubs at the school will stay at home with their families on August 24.
Parents should proactively arrange time to care for and supervise their children at home, limit outdoor activities in unsafe weather and pay particular attention to safety during the storm.
Teachers will continue to provide updates and notify parents as soon as there are new instructions from the school," the notice said.
