Border authorities in An Giang Province have received hundreds of Vietnamese citizens repatriated by Cambodian authorities, including dozens returned on August 21 after being found residing or working illegally in Cambodia.

The An Giang Border Guard Command said the Tinh Bien International Border Gate Border Post, in coordination with relevant agencies, received 47 Vietnamese citizens at midday on August 21.
The group consisted of individuals who had been living and working illegally in Cambodia. Many of those repatriated were young people in their teenage years or early adulthood.
At the border crossing, authorities verified personal information and relevant documents before completing reception procedures in accordance with regulations. Officials also provided information on legal rights and obligations to help the returnees understand the process and ease concerns before reuniting with their families.
The citizens underwent health checks and identity screening before being allowed to return home.
Earlier, on August 17, the Ha Tien International Border Gate Border Post received 15 Vietnamese citizens from Cambodian authorities at Border Marker 313. They had been found in violation of residency and labour regulations in Cambodia.
Following a series of similar cases, authorities urged the public to exercise caution when considering overseas job offers, particularly recruitment advertisements circulating on social media that do not clearly identify the employer or organisation involved.
Officials advised jobseekers to obtain information through government agencies, employment service centres or licensed recruitment companies rather than relying on unverified brokers.
They also warned against offers promising “easy work and high pay” with no qualifications required, saying such advertisements may be linked to fraudulent recruitment schemes or networks involved in organising illegal migration and employment abroad.
Since late April, An Giang authorities have repeatedly received large groups of Vietnamese citizens repatriated from Cambodia.
On July 30, the province's Immigration Department and related agencies received 21 Vietnamese citizens returned by Cambodian authorities.
On April 29, another 33 citizens were handed over at Tinh Bien International Border Gate.
The largest repatriation took place on May 27 and May 29 at Vinh Xuong International Border Gate, where authorities received a total of 244 Vietnamese citizens in two separate groups of 137 and 107 people.
According to officials, the repatriated individuals were involved in various violations, including illegal employment, unlawful border crossings and work at online scam operations based in Cambodia.
