The Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, the project investor, said on August 21 that contractors were completing the remaining work.
The four-lane road surface has largely been completed, with asphalt laid along the entire route. Road markings, central barriers, anti-glare screens and guardrails have also been installed on many sections.
Work has also included building new bridge structures and widening 50 bridges along the route to accommodate four lanes.
On the section from Km 0 to Km 21+120, the main works are largely complete, with contractors now installing central barriers, anti-glare screens and road signs, replacing old guardrails and completing road markings.
Several landslide-hit sections damaged by storms and heavy rain in 2025 are being repaired and are expected to be completed in December.

Additional facilities recently approved by the Ministry of Construction, including smart tolling facilities, noise barriers and rest stops, are also scheduled for completion in December.
The project investor said the entire route would be ready by August 31, while landslide repairs and other remaining components would be completed by the end of the year.
The 66-km La Son-Hoa Lien Expressway begins at its junction with the Cam Lo-La Son Expressway in Hung Loc Commune, Hue, and connects with the Hoa Lien-Tuy Loan Expressway in Danang.
The project, which began in May 2025, costs more than VND 3.2 trillion and widens the road to 22 metres with four lanes. It has a design speed of 60-80 kilometres per hour.
