A 47-year-old Vietnamese man has been fined VND 7.5 million (USD 283) for illegally entering Vietnam from Cambodia, authorities said.

In addition to the fine, police required the man to sign a commitment not to repeat the offence and to strictly comply with regulations governing entry into and exit from Vietnam.

Dong Hai Commune police urged local residents to strictly observe immigration laws and warned them not to be persuaded or recruited by brokers to illegally cross the border.
