The Ho Chi Minh City Military Command said on August 18 that search teams had uncovered another 10 sets of remains and five sets of associated artefacts at the park, bringing the total number recovered to 368.
More than 400 cubic metres of soil were excavated and processed during the day as the search area was expanded.
The city military command deployed three excavators, dump trucks and two other trucks to support excavation and the transportation of soil and maintain the pace of the operation.
Also on August 18, a delegation from Tay Ninh Province, led by Ho Thi Hoang Yen, standing deputy secretary of the provincial Party Committee, visited the site to lay flowers and offer incense in tribute to fallen soldiers.

The delegation also presented gifts to personnel involved in the search for the remains at Le Thi Rieng Park.

The search and recovery operation at Le Thi Rieng Park was launched on July 6 following the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra at a workshop verifying information about a mass grave of martyrs in the area.

Earlier, based on witness accounts and historical records, the Ho Chi Minh City Command estimated that hundreds of martyrs killed during the 1968 Tet Offensive and Uprising may have been buried in Do Thanh - Chi Hoa cemetery, now Le Thi Rieng Park.
