Hanoi plans to install 6,117 AI-powered traffic cameras developed and manufactured in Vietnam with the involvement of GTEL, the company said.
GTEL said its domestically developed and manufactured cameras are expected to cost about 15 per cent less than imported alternatives while meeting the country's goal of developing dual-use security industry products.
The deployment of AI-powered traffic cameras is expected to strengthen the use of science and technology in maintaining security and public order, while helping authorities improve traffic monitoring and management and respond more effectively to incidents across the capital.
As an enterprise under the Ministry of Public Security, GTEL said research, development and supply of technological products and solutions for maintaining security and public order are among its key responsibilities.
