Hue authorities announced the free-entry policy to mark the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
Historical and cultural sites across the Complex of Hue Monuments will waive admission fees for Vietnamese citizens on both days.
Local authorities said the initiative would give domestic visitors more opportunities to explore and learn about the historical and cultural values of the former imperial capital.
The free entry is also intended to bring Hue's heritage closer to the public and promote the city as one of Vietnam's major heritage and festival destinations.
Visitors to Hue in August and September can also take part in a series of cultural, sporting and musical events under the Autumn Festival of Hue Festival 2026.
Highlights include the Hue Nam Temple Festival, an international music and heritage programme, a National Day art performance, traditional boat racing on the Huong River and the Hue Lion Dance Festival.
Other events include Hue Tuong - Echoes of a Thousand Years, Royal Full Moon Night and the art programme Gui gio cho may ngan bay - Nguyen Dinh Tuan Dung.
Hue authorities expect the autumn events to offer visitors a range of cultural, artistic and heritage experiences.
