Nguyen Chanh Thuc, director of the Nha Trang Ward Centre for Public Services and Operations in Khanh Hoa Province, said on August 14 that the unit had drawn up reports and ordered three companies to halt business activities on Nha Trang Beach at night.
The three companies told to suspend operations were Bien Xanh International JSC, which runs Louisiane restaurant; Nha Trang Boat Club Joint Venture Co Ltd, which runs Sailing Club restaurant; and Bon Mua Nha Trang Co Ltd, which runs Four Seasons Restaurant.

Earlier, the Nha Trang Ward Centre for Public Services and Operations inspected night-time business activities on Nha Trang Beach.
The inspection found that the companies did not have the full documentation required under the law to operate on Nha Trang Beach at night. The centre therefore ordered all three to stop trading on the beach.
"Under the contracts currently in force, the companies are only allowed to place parasols and chairs for business on the beach from 8am to 4.30 pm each day. After 4.30 pm, all parasols and chairs must be cleared away completely, returning the sand to an open state so the environmental company can clean the area and residents can use it for community activities," Thuc said.

According to Thuc, if the companies want to operate and place tables and chairs on the beach at night, they must first seek approval in principle from the Khanh Hoa Province People's Committee. Once such approval is granted, the province will assign the ward authorities to implement the process in line with regulations.
Thuc added that at the meeting, the companies agreed to suspend beach business activities until they receive permission.
