Nguyen Xuan Toan, deputy editor-in-chief of Dantri, said he was pleased to represent the newspaper's readers in supporting the children of disadvantaged members of the Hanoi Blind Association.

Toan said initiatives such as the health insurance card programme may have limited monetary value but provide practical support to families struggling financially.

"Health insurance cards help protect children against health risks. When illness or an unexpected event occurs, health insurance can ease part of the financial burden on their families," Toan said.

With support from readers and donors, Dantri plans to provide more than 1,000 health insurance cards to disadvantaged students this year, he said.

On behalf of the newspaper's editorial board, Toan thanked readers in Vietnam and abroad for their continued trust and support.

"I can only express my sincere thanks and deep emotion for the care shown by Dantri, its readers and donors. Beyond the material support, this is also a major source of encouragement for parents, particularly the students, as they prepare for the new school year," Cuong said.
