The airport is expected to handle 36-40 flights and around 6,800 passengers a day after operations resume, according to information presented at a tourism promotion conference in Hanoi on August 11.
Flights connecting Dalat with Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Danang, Vinh and Hai Phong are expected to resume, improving access to one of the country's major highland tourism destinations.
The conference, held to promote Lam Dong tourism and the 2026 Dalat Flower Festival, also introduced tourism stimulus programmes for the province.
Nghiem Dinh Hieu, director of the Lam Dong Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Centre, said the province was promoting a wider range of tourism experiences under the theme "Lam Dong - A Journey of Sea, Flowers and Highlands".
While Lam Dong has traditionally been closely associated with Dalat, known for its mild climate, pine forests and flowers, the province is seeking to develop tourism drawing on a broader range of natural and cultural attractions.

Ha Van Sieu, deputy director general of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, said Lam Dong had significant tourism potential combining coastal and highland attractions.
He said stronger links between Lam Dong, Hanoi and northern provinces could create two-way travel routes, broaden options for visitors and help tourism businesses tap into new markets.
The reopening of Lien Khuong International Airport would provide favourable conditions for restoring and expanding air links between Lam Dong and major visitor markets including Hanoi and Hai Phong, Sieu said.
However, air routes would be sustainable only if backed by suitable tourism products, competitive pricing, seasonal sales plans and stable passenger demand, he added.
Sieu called for tourism partnerships to move beyond individual events towards longer-term plans with measurable results. He also highlighted the need to develop marketable tourism products, strengthen air connectivity, use data and digital communications more effectively, and focus on quality, safety and sustainability.
Lam Dong aims to welcome about 25.75-26 million visitors in 2026 and generate around VND 71.5 trillion (USD 2.72 billion) in tourism revenue.
The province received more than 14 million visitors in the first seven months of the year, including nearly one million international arrivals, while tourism revenue reached almost VND 40 trillion.
The 11th Dalat Flower Festival is scheduled for December 2026, showcasing the region's natural, cultural, agricultural and tourism attractions.
