Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Dat, chief of Hoanh Son Ward Police Department in Ha Tinh Province, said that at about 7 am on August 11, a lorry crashed into four motorbikes waiting at a red light at the junction of National Highway 1 and the road leading to Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation Ltd.

At the time, several vehicles were stopped at the traffic lights at the junction. The crane lorry, bearing registration plate 72C-105.xx and travelling from Ha Tinh towards Quang Tri, suddenly veered forward and struck four motorbikes.
"The vehicle lost control but was moving slowly, so fortunately there were no fatalities. Three people were injured and taken to hospital for emergency treatment," the Hoanh Son Ward police chief said.
Authorities in Hoanh Son Ward, in coordination with the Traffic Police Division of Ha Tinh Province Police, handled the scene, directed traffic and are investigating the cause of the incident.
