Nearly 260 ha handed over for roads linking Long Thanh airport

Nearly 260 hectares of land have been handed over for three road projects connecting areas in Dong Nai with Long Thanh International Airport, out of nearly 630 hectares required.

The projects involve upgrading and expanding roads 769 and 773 and building the new 770B road, the Dong Nai City Construction Investment Project Management Board said on August 10.

More than 130 hectares, or nearly half of the required land, have been handed over for Road 770B. Nearly 70 hectares have been cleared for Road 773 and more than 56 hectares for Road 769, equivalent to over 30% and 40% of their respective requirements.

Land and asset inventories for most of the remaining area have been completed, with compensation and support procedures being accelerated.

Most of the land already handed over is occupied by rubber plantations. Contractors have begun setting up temporary facilities and clearing sites in preparation for construction.

However, some rubber trees remain on land where compensation has already been paid, delaying full site clearance.

On Road 770B alone, nearly 105 hectares of rubber plantation belonging to Dong Nai Rubber Corporation have been subject to land recovery decisions and compensation payments, but the trees have yet to be cleared.

The three projects, with a combined length of about 110 kilometres and a design speed of 80 kph, broke ground in mid-July.

They are intended to improve connections between areas in Dong Nai and Long Thanh International Airport and strengthen regional road links to the airport.

The projects are scheduled for completion in 2027 and 2028.
