The event was a key part of a Vietnam-HCM City tourism promotion programme running in Australia from August 8-13, according to the HCM City Department of Tourism.

The city introduced new tourism products and experiences, highlighting its broader range of attractions following its administrative expansion, alongside established strengths in urban, cultural, culinary, entertainment and MICE tourism.
MICE support measures, visa policies and major tourism events were also presented to help Australian businesses develop travel products featuring HCM City and other Vietnamese destinations.
The promotional space included interactive tourism maps, cultural and artistic activities and other materials designed to give visitors a more engaging introduction to the city.
Vietnamese and Australian tourism businesses also met to exchange information on products and market demand and explore cooperation opportunities.
The programme is expected to help Vietnamese operators better understand Australian travellers and tailor products to their preferences, while expanding HCM City's presence in packages offered by Australian travel companies.
Australia is an important source market for Vietnam, particularly for higher-spending visitors. HCM City hopes the campaign will attract more Australian travellers and boost two-way tourism between the two countries.
