The Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ninh Province Police, through its Economic Police Division, has launched criminal proceedings over alleged infringement of industrial property rights and tax evasion in Dong Trieu Ward.
Investigators seized 30 counterfeit watches bearing the names of several world-famous brands, including Rolex, Hublot and Franck Muller.

Earlier, on June 3, the Economic Police Division inspected the LUXURY WATCH shop owned by Vu Van Dat, born in 1998 and residing in Me Xa 2 area, Dong Trieu Ward.
At the time of the inspection, authorities found 30 watches all bearing trademarks protected in Vietnam.
According to Vu Van Dat, in addition to the shop at 574 Nguyen Binh Street, Me Xa 2 area, he also sold watches on social media platforms.
Dat told investigators that since 2022 he had carried out numerous watch trading transactions and had sold only counterfeit goods. He had never been authorised by any of the well-known brands to distribute genuine products.
The investigation found that Dat had traded 56 watches carrying the Rolex, Franck Muller, Hublot, Patek Philippe and Richard Mille brands. All were counterfeit products infringing protected trademarks, generating illicit profits of nearly VND 150 million (USD 5,800).
As the inquiry widened, police found that Dat's shop had generated revenue from 2022 to the end of 2025 but failed to declare or adjust its tax filings for payment.
The amount of tax allegedly evaded was put at nearly VND 125 million (USD 4,800).
Quang Ninh Province Police Department is continuing to widen the investigation, verify the facts and handle the case in accordance with the law.
